DISCOVER WHAT RECOGNITION REALLY FEELS LIKE WITH LIMITED-TIME OFFER FOR BRITISH AIRWAYS CLUB MEMBERS

  • Virgin Atlantic is offering enhanced status match for British Airways Club members between 10-23 February 2026.
  • BA Silver members can enjoy Flying Club Gold Status, while Bronze members will be matched to Flying Club Silver.
  • BA Club status does not need to be valid at the date of travel, and customers who have previously matched their status to Flying Club can match again.
  • With simple progression, meaningful rewards and Virgin Atlantic’s signature hospitality, Flying Club proves loyalty should work both ways.

Virgin Atlantic is inviting travellers to join a loyalty programme that truly loves them back this Valentine’s Day, with a limited-time enhanced status match offer for British Airways Club members.

Available between 10 and 23 February 2026, the offer allows British Airways Silver members to earn Flying Club Gold status and Bronze members to reach Flying Club Silver – giving them the recognition they deserve.

Building on Virgin Atlantic’s ongoing status match programme, which allows customers in the top tier of eleven airlines – including BA – to receive the equivalent status with Flying Club, the enhanced offer gives BA Club members the unmissable opportunity to upgrade their status when they switch.

To qualify for Flying Club Gold, customers must have a future revenue or redemption flight booked with Virgin Atlantic in either Premium or Upper Class. Those matching to Silver will need a future revenue or redemption flight booked in any cabin.

Designed to be as accessible as possible, it couldn’t be easier to go from ‘Club’ to Clubhouse. British Airways Club status doesn’t need to be valid at the date of travel, and Virgin Atlantic is waiving its five-year status match limit, meaning even customers who have previously matched their status to Flying Club are eligible.

There are plenty of reasons to stick around for the long-haul, not just a Valentine’s fling, with fixed Tier Point targets, accessible thresholds and double Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic Holidays making it easy for customers to retain Flying Club status once they have switched.

Anthony Woodman, Vice President, Flying Club & CRM, Virgin Atlantic, commented:

“There are few things more rewarding than sharing all that Flying Club has to offer - so we’re inviting customers who may not be feeling the love this Valentine’s to save their tiers with Virgin Atlantic. Our combination of simple, fast tier progression, a roster of industry-firsts in loyalty, together with our award-winning product and customer experience is sure to be a match with our future members this February.”

The enhanced status match builds on a series of customer-focused innovations from Flying Club, including the recent launch of High Five, a new Flying Club reward that recognises loyalty over time, regardless of status or spend. Customers who fly with Virgin Atlantic in five different years will receive 12,000 Virgin Points to put towards their next flight or holiday, and with flight tracking backdated to 2021, tens of thousands of Flying Club members have already received their High Five reward.

Since 2024, Flying Club members can use Virgin Points to pay for any seat on the plane on any date, offering absolute choice and flexibility for Virgin Atlantic’s loyal customers, with the price of seats varying in line with demand, in a similar way to standard tickets.

Virgin Atlantic also created five points “million airs” in 2025, rewarding five lucky customers who matched their status to Flying Club Gold or Silver with 1,000,000 Virgin Points to spend on future adventures, as Virgin Points never expire.

In 2023, Virgin Atlantic joined SkyTeam as the alliance’s first and only UK airline, giving Flying Club members more opportunities to earn and redeem Virgin Points and Tier Points across all 18 global airlines. Flying Club Silver Card holders are recognised as SkyTeam Elite Members, while Gold Card members benefit from SkyTeam Elite Plus, unlocking SkyPriority services such as priority check-in, baggage handling and boarding, alongside extra baggage allowances for both Elite and Elite Plus members.

In 2020, Flying Club became the first loyalty programme in the world to award tier points on reward flights. The launch of Virgin Red in 2021 brought the Virgin ecosystem together to recognise and reward customer loyalty, with Virgin Points no longer expiring and redeemable across Flying Club and Virgin Red on everything from cinema tickets and hot drinks to flights and extraordinary experiences.

With customers at the heart of Flying Club and more to come in the months ahead, leisure travellers can look forward to a smooth take-off towards higher tiers and even more reasons to fall in love with loyalty.
